ISO standard for sustainable event management in development
Nobody can deny that conferences, concerts, sport competitions and festivals have a unique social, economic, or even ecological function. Nevertheless, the organization of such events is all too often associated with a significant amount of waste and other negative effects.
ISO is currently developing a new international standard for sustainable events management, ISO 20121. The Bureau de Normalisation (NBN) and the SPP Sustainable Development closely follow the development of this standard.
Essential in the whole process is the involvement of the stakeholders. If you would like to be kept informed of developments in the field of ISO 20121, and in order to participate in the Belgian shadow Committee, you can submit an application to the NBN. These "mirror committees" exist in all the countries that participate in the process, and should ensure that all stakeholders get involved in the process as from the beginning.For more information you can contact:
