This test method is suitable for use with solvents having an initial boiling point over 40 °C and a dry point under 300 °C when determined in accordance with the procedures in < span class=" Body-link1 cdone" > Note 1< / span> .

< span class=" note cdone" style=" text-transform: uppercase " > Note 1:< / span>  < span class=" note cdone" > Test Method < span class=" Note-link1 cdone" > D86< / span> is used to determine the initial boiling point and dry point for mineral spirits and similar petroleum solvents. Test Method < span class=" Note-link1 cdone" > D1078< / span> is used for pure compounds and narrow boiling range cuts.< / span>
