The European Commission wants to know how to improve the European standardisation system. It is therefore organizing a public inquiry on the review of the EU standardization regime. NBN is calling on everyone involved in standards - from companies to researchers and civil society organizations - to participate. The survey will run until December 17, 2025.
The EU regulation on standardisation defines the way European standards are developed and used to support the EU market and policies. It provides the basis for cooperation between the European Commission, the European standards bodies (CEN, CENELEC, ETSI) and national partners such as NBN.
With the survey, the Commission wants to gather insights on what works well and what could be improved. The goal? A system that is faster, more inclusive and more attuned to today's challenges - from digital innovation to the green transition.
The survey is open to anyone with an interest or experience in standards. In particular, the following groups are invited:
🗓️ Deadline: Dec. 17, 2025
🌐 How to participate: through the online consultation on the European Commission's "Have Your Say" portal.
🗣️ Language: you can answer in any official EU language.
With your input, you will help make the European standardisation system ready for the future.
