Webinar "How can I collaborate on standards for Sustainable Finance?

Webinar as part of international standards committee ISO/TC 322 'Sustainable finance' and new European standards committee CEN/TC 475 'Finance'

At the international level, ISO is developing standards around sustainable finance to integrate sustainability considerations, including environmental, social and governance practices, into the financing of economic activities.

Now, there's a new development: CEN, the organisation that develops and publishes standards at the European level, established a technical committee around finance in 2023: CEN/TC 475 'Finance'. This committee will also develop standards around sustainable finance, with a focus on the European market.

The new committee will be of considerable importance for two reasons:

1. It will develop new European standards directly related to European regulations and policies. These new standards will be specific to the European market.
2. The ISO committee focuses only on sustainable finance. The CEN committee will also develop standards around other aspects of finance, such as basic financial analysis for private clients, query methods, processes, evaluation of investor sustainability preferences, product declaration and labeling related to sustainability topics, and standardized financial and risk analysis for investors.

The Belgian mirror commission NBN/I322 will follow up what happens within the CEN Commission and ISO Commission. Moreover, the experts in the mirror commission can also contribute to the drafting of those standards.
