What does this NBN training look like?

The ISO 9001 Master Track combines online, classroom and individual classes. It consists of four parts:

1. E-learning ISO 9001

• Our quality management experts teach you the basics about quality and ISO 9001. You learn to frame quality within a professional context.
• You will go through this basic training of about 8 hours at your own pace. You can start this immediately once you are enrolled in the course.

2. Application of ISO 9001 - 12/09/2024

• In this one-day classroom session, you learn to interpret and apply the requirements of ISO 9001 within your own professional context. Instructors use many examples from their own experience, and they always address how ISO 9001 is applied within your sector.
• You frame a number of management techniques within the concept of "quality management.
• You apply a number of techniques, such as risk management.

3. Audit of ISO 9001 - 23/09/2024

• This one-day classroom session is about internal quality audits. You learn how to plan and conduct a quality audit.
• You master the basics of a number of relevant audit techniques. This is a highly interactive session with your peers and instructor, and role play is used.
• You write an audit report.
• This Master Track only prepares you for a role as an internal auditor.

4. Exam - 15/10/2024

• After the first class session, you will receive an assignment in which you will evaluate a component of a quality management system. In doing so, you really apply the standard to your case.
• After the second class session, you will get one hour of one-on-one coaching, where you can ask your trainer all your questions and receive some personal tips and tricks. This will take place on 01/10/2024.
• The final part includes an online exam and a class presentation of your assignment on 15/10/2024.
• If you pass the exam and the final test, you receive the ISO 9001 Certified Master certificate.

Our instructor: Michel Mainil

After working in various sectors (including PVC, analytics, research, paint, large format printers, and the automotive industry), Michel became a Quality, Safety and Environmental (QSE) auditor in 2001.

He soon discovered the link between how an organisation operates and the standards it uses as management tools. Michel went on to specialise in integrated management audits related to QSE and social aspects (including EMAS (Eco-Management and Audit Scheme) and RTS (Road Traffic Safety)). In 2013, he became a member of Technical Committee 283 for the development of ISO 45001.

As a product manager, Michel develops integrated management systems for auditors and customers. In addition to providing education and training (such as a Master in Total Quality Management, prevention advisor level 1-2, environmental management coordinator, risk management, standards, auditing, improvement tools, etc.), he also runs clubs focusing on areas such as QSE performance and prevention. Michel is still active as a QSE auditor. Since 2017, he has been sharing his extensive knowledge by coaching companies in all areas of his expertise (i.e. improving companies' organisation and culture by focusing on QSE and social aspects, including behavioural aspects).
