Standards projects constitute the work programme of the standards committees. They provide an overview of all standards under development, including the stage they are at.

- The European electrical engineering standards projects sit with CENELEC.
- International standards projects are looked after by ISO.
- IEC monitors international electrical engineering standards projects.
- The standards projects around European telecommunications are the responsibility of ETSI.
- Standards projects about international telecommunications can be found at ITU-T.
