What does this NBN training look like?

The ISO 45001 Master Track combines online, classroom and individual classes. It consists of four parts:

1. E-learning ISO 45001

• Our experts in OHS management teach you the basics about occupational health and safety and ISO 45001. You learn to frame health and safety within a professional context.
• You go through this basic training of about 8 hours at your own pace. Only after everyone has passed the e-learning exam will the classroom sessions start. This way, everyone starts the next module at a higher level.

2. Application of ISO 45001 - 21/10/2024

• You learn in this one-day classroom session to interpret and apply the standards requirements of ISO 45001 within your own professional context.
• You frame a number of management techniques within the concept of safety and health management.
• You apply a number of techniques such as risk management.

3. Audit of ISO 45001 - 23/10/2024

• This one-day classroom session is about internal audits. You learn to plan and conduct a management system audit.
• You master the basics of some relevant audit techniques.
• You write an audit report.

4. Exam, assignment and debate - 13/11/2024

• Before your exam and your final test, you will have one hour of one-on-one coaching on 5/11/2024, where you can ask your trainer all your questions.
• The exam involves evaluating a component of an OHS management system. You present your findings and defend your conclusions.
• The last part includes a final online test and a class presentation of your assignment. Finally, there is a debate with your instructor.
• If you pass the exam and the final test, you receive the ISO 45001 Certified Master certificate.

Standards expert Heidi Vandenhende has skilfully prepared this training course. Heidi is a teacher with a great deal of experience: she’s an external lead auditor and instructor, and teaches at HoGent. Her specialisations are ISO 45001, ISO 14001, ISO 26000 and ISO 9001. Heidi is an expert in health and safety management. She is directly involved in the development of the standard and is therefore fully up to date on the latest evolutions.‍
