Did you know that ISO develops standards for ships and marine technology worldwide? The ISO/TC 8 'Ships and Marine Technology' technical committee has already published hundreds of standards in various fields.

This year, a new subcommittee will be added: ISO/TC 8/SC 27 'Ports and terminals'. This subcommittee on seaports and terminals will work on standards for:

• Planning, construction, use, modernisation and repurposing of ports and terminals
• Design, control, monitoring and inspection
• Efficient use of resources
• Sustainable development of the sector

We are also contributing to this in Belgium! The national commission NBN/I00827 brings together experts from various sectors to monitor and adjust these standards. The good news? You can participate!
