Did you know that ISO develops global standards for food, from primary production to consumption. The ISO/TC 34 'Food products' technical committee has already published hundreds of standards and continues to lead their development and revision with more than 100 countries.

Subcommittees and working groups are working on standards for:

  • Microbiological analysis of the food chain
  • Food safety management systems
  • Animal and vegetable fats and oils
  • Bee products
  • Food loss and waste

And many more! Discover all domains on the ISO/TC 34 website.

We are also contributing to this in Belgium! The national commission NBN/I034 'Food products' brings together experts from various sectors to monitor and adjust these standards. The good news? You can participate!

What topics are we discussing?

  • What are standards and why are they important?
  • How are ISO standards created and who contributes to them?
  • What food standards are currently in the works?
  • What are the benefits for you as a member of the Belgian commission?

Register for the free event and find out how you can contribute!

During our kick-off we welcome two inspiring guest speakers, both active within the NBN/I034 committee.

  • Marie Polet (Sciensano) explains how standardization contributes to the work of the National Reference Laboratory for Food Microbiology.
  • Etienne Bruneau takes us into the world of bees and shares his experience in developing international standards for bee pollen.

Don't miss this unique insight into practice and standards development!
